Places I have been...

Library books...

My books

Here is the link which I hope works, I am going to try to link it so it will always be on my blog, but I am having a hard time because everything says this link is invalid. If anyone who is reading this can help, I would appreciate some tips.

Just when you think we have learned all the new web 2.0 tools, we are again surprised. However, I really like website because I am always looking for new books to read or suggestions from other people. Can I see my class using this at all? Saying I teach third graders, not so much. I will tell the classroom teachers about this service because I can see them using this with their students a lot more than I will.

It was very easy to find books, and make comments and rating them too. I am very interested to see classmates books. I believe I saw something like this on some of my friends Facebook profile. The funny thing about this is, who has time to read right now with all of our homework?? Its a big tease :)

Fun flickr toys!!!!

Wow, I bookmarked this page so fast. Talk about another way to spend your time. I had no idea I just spend two hours playing with all of this stuff. I love it! I can see myself using this in the future and I need to start uploading more of my picture to flickr. I hope this slide show works...

Fit for life podcast

Assuming I did this right, you should be able to click on the link on the right side of this page, which will let you download this podcast to your reader. After looking at many fitness related podcasts, I thought this one was the most interesting. It has some great workout tips, nutrition facts, and just real life advice. As a woman, we are always looking for advice on these subjects.

I think it is easier and more convenient to have these podcasts on our google reader because it is so much faster than opening up itunes. Again, it is all about organization and keeping things all in one place. Amazing. This was pretty easy to do and I will now search around the last of the three podcasting websites given to us. I am curious to see what other will choose. I could absolutely see myself using this in the classroom, or just to gain more knowledge on the subject. I am sure they have some wedding podcasts too....oh no, more time spent on my computer!!!

Ouch

Sorry, this is funny in a bad way. I had to post it..

Jump rope tricks

How could I not post this clip?? Everyone loves to jump rope, no matter what shape or size you are. I have a fantastic jump rope unit, and I always like to show the kids different routines. In the past I would have a hard time finding videos, but you tube makes it so much easier now.

At first I was very nervous about using youtube because we had a huge "episode" at our school. Our students were filming us teachers without us knowing about it, and posting them. That is just the brink of it really. So, just like other social networking, you need to be very careful what you are posting.

I do not have that much experience using youtube, but since I bought my flip (see blog below) I will be using this much more. I can see myself flipping class time and posting it here. It is also awesome for dance units. I would have my students film there dance routine and post it for all the other students to see.

On my personal teacher/school website, I believe this would be a fantastic addition. I can do demos, instructions, etc. When used correctly, this could be another useful tool for the classroom.

I love how easy the site is to use, and how other videos you might like always pop up on the side. I have not found anything I dislike yet..but I will keep you posted!

New and Improved Library

Does anyone else have the feeling we will have a assignment using library 2.0?? I would actually like to see it in use, and it makes me wonder what our library has. Does anyone in this class know about their own library? Not to stereotype, but I do not see many PE teachers using the library. Please correct me if I am wrong.
